Scott may be Dixie County’s best
by admin
Dixie County High School, in the heart of tiny Cross City, has had more highly productive running backs than any other local school since the turn of the century.
Names like Nick Collins (now a Green Bay Packers’ safety), Jeremy Carter and Paul O’hara have all been among the state’s top rushers their junior and senior seasons.
And Rodney Scott may just be the best of the bunch.
The new Auburn commitment led the state in regular season rushing yardage in 2007, despite working behind an inexperienced (and not very big) offensive line.
Scott combines nifty footwork with surprising power for someone just 5-foot-9, 191 pounds. And as a senior, he should be running behind an improved line, meaning Scott could surpass the 2,017 yards and 20 touchdowns he totalled as a junior.
Imagine what he might do in the SEC.
