With the hiring of David Banes as its baseball coach last Thursday,
Buchholz has completely moved on from the 24-year Bob Smith era.
That same day (prior to Banes’ hiring becoming public knowledge) three parents called The Sun to lend their support to Smith and talk about a few issues that upset them regarding his firing on Aug. 24. During last year’s football season it began to look like the area was
quite possibly going to produce the top two running back prospects for
the Class of 2010.
One of those players was Columbia’s Tiger Powell, who is so good the team is nicknamed after him.

It may have been Week One, but four was the number of the night lastFriday at Citizens Field.
Fourth down produced memorable moments for the Eastside offense and theBuchholz defense. First, with just 1:14 gone in the second quarter Ramsquarterback Desmond O’Neal found Kevin Kelly for a 25-yard touchdown onfourth-and-23.
