Maybe an undefeated record wasn’t the way to go.
In 2005 and 2006 Lafayette finished the football regular season 10-0 only to be disappointed by losses to Port St. Joe, first in the regional final and then in the regional semi.
This year the Hornets opened the season with a rare loss ” 16-0 to visiting Keystone Heights.

With two decades of service, no one has ever coached more games in Oak Hall’s 37-year history than Cari Martin. And since the day she was hired as a fresh-faced 21-year-old straight out of Valdosta State, the school has been lucky to have her.

A couple of weeks ago, I was talking to Buchholz volleyball coach Jeff Reavis about his team. We had gone over just about every player when he said something that stuck out to me.

For some reason major colleges have been slow to discover Newberry’s excitingly fast running back Antwan Ivey.
I believe he is a Division I talent. P.K. Yonge coach John Clifford agrees. So does Ocala Trinity Catholic’s Ricky Nattiel.
Being 5-foot-7 is probably Ivey’s biggest (only?) drawback. However, as Florida’s 5-6 sophomore tailback/return man Brandon James has proved, an athlete of that size can be extremely productive at the highest level of college football. And in future …
